Hi, I'm Urmila Kashyap

I'm a UX designer and design leader. I live, work and play in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I'm currently leading a talented team of senior UX designers at Lacework to design products that help organizations proactively secure their clouds. As a designer, I thoroughly enjoy going deep into the user's problem space and finding optimal solutions. As a design leader, I thrive in fostering collaborative and creative environments to drive product and business success.

Case Studies

About: I’m a seasoned UX designer and design leader with 14 years of experience in Enterprise solutions. In the early years of my career, I sharpened my design craft by creating intuitive end-to-end product experiences in the complex worlds of finance and security.

As a design leader, I blend my interests in driving UX strategy, transforming scrappy teams to high-performing design organizations and creating impactful products. I lead cross-functional teams to drive designs from concept to delivery by leveraging user-centric methodologies and industry research. I coach design teams toward achieving exceptional design outcomes while aligning with organizational objectives and fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration. My design vision approach is bold yet pragmatic – whether it's hands on or through collaboration, I focus on operational rigor and drive outcomes across org boundaries.

I’m adept in Figma prototyping, creating user flows, leading UX discovery, aligning cross-functional partners through design workshops, defining design ops strategy, creating design roadmaps, instilling bespoke design processes, and advocating for user needs.

In my spare time: I like work on DIY projects, explore restaurants in San Francisco, hike, bike and run beautiful SF Bay Area trails with my family.
